Mathematics association was inaugurated by Prof: M J Mathai, retd. Professor, Dept of Mathematics, Mampad MES College on 20th February 2016.He took a seminar on Signals – the applications of mathematics. The Principal inaugurated, and the HOD Prof. Thomas Mathew presided over the meeting. The chairman gave felicitations.
“Pie Day” – 21st July 2015 was inaugurated by the H O D. Six departments participated in the mathematics quiz programme. Prof.Thomas Mathew was the quiz master. Departments of Maths, Physics and Botany were the winners. As part of Onam celebrations, arranged by the NSS unit of the college, The Department achieved First place in Onappattu and second in Pookkalam Competitions.
The department got second place in the college overall arts festival and second in Sanskrit drama of the C zone festival. A farewell meeting was arranged to the final year students on 8th February 2016. Dr. Prasad M Alex, Principal-in-charge, was the chief guest. Junior students and teachers gave warm wishes to the outgoing students.
