Maths fest ‘18
As part of the National Mathematics day celebrations –Tribute to the Indian Mathematics genius Sreenivasa Ramunujan – the department organized “Maths fest’ 18” on 4th January 2019 . A full day programme with maths puzzles,brain teasers, tricks, games and film was arranged. College students, teachers, Higher secondary students, teachers and old students visited and enjoyed the fest. The College bursar Rev Mathai Joseph inaugurated and Principal in charge Dr.Rajeev Thomas presided the function. Head of the Department Prof.Thomas Mathew was the coordinator; Arun, Subin, and Jithu were the students’ leaders.
Pie Day was celebrated on 26th July 2018. Six department teams participated in the Maths quiz programme arranged by the Mathematics department.
Certificate Course on Vedic Mathematics was inaugurated by Prof: Anas of the Dept of Mathematics MES College Mampad on 7th November 2018. Best practices The students actively participated in cultural, sports -games activities and the N S S programmes of the college. In this year’s Arts competitions, Jaison and Swathi of second year Maths were the Kalathilakam and Kalaprathibha . Raees the sixth semester student scored 652 th rank out 12630 students in JAM Qualified examinations. A Manuscripts magazine– GANITHA was published by the first year students. The Department collected Rs.10,000 and used for the Medical Care of a dialysis patient- parent of a sixth semester maths student. A three days tour package was arranged for 6th semester students to Chikamangalur, Udupi on 28th to 30th November. A farewell function to senior students by juniors was held on 22nd March. Anagha Rajashekaran of sixth semester student was selected as the best out going student of this year
