History of the Department

• The history of the Department of Mathematics begins along with the inception of the college in 1981, with Pre-degree first group of 80 students. Mrs. Rani Elizabeth Titus served as the faculty during 1981-1983.
• In the year 1983, the founder manager Rt.Rev Easow Mar Timethios appointed Mr. Thomas Mathew as the lecturer.
• In 1993, the department was upgraded to degree level, with the commencement of B.Sc. Physics with Mathematics and Chemistry as subsidiary subjects.
• In 1998, B.Sc. Polymer Chemistry was started with Mathematics and Physics as subsidiary subject. Mrs. Mariyamma and Mr. Oommen Mathews were also the lecturers before the de _ linking of Pre-degree course in 2000.
• In 2005,  B.Sc. Mathematics(self financing) was commenced with Computer Applications and Statistics as complementary subjects.
• In 2014, B.Sc. Mathematics was started in aided stream(intake 20 seats).

Mr. Thomas Mathew (HOD) was retired from his 30 years of service on 31^st march 2014 and still is continuing along with Mrs. Divya(Maths), Mr. Sreekant(C.S ), Ms. Benitta(Stat) and Ms. Ashilin (Maths) as guest lecturer.  Now the  sanctioned strength  of this course is 30.
